Wal-Mart has updated their corporate coupon policy in a VERY good way! Here is a summary of the changes!
- Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase (this means if you use a $1 coupon on a $0.97 item you will get $0.03 in change or applied to your total bill) This is awesome!
- Competitor coupons will be honored if the coupon states a price and not a dollar off amount. (for example a coupon that states a sale price like $2.99 would be honored but it will not be honored if it is $0.50 off)
- Catalinas (coupons that print when you check out at the store) will be accepted so long as they have "Manufacturer Coupon" with specific requirements printed on them, a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and a scannable bar code. Very excited about this one, too!
The following are guidelines and limitations:
- Only one coupon per item is permitted.
- Coupons must have an expiration date and be redeemed prior to expiration.
- Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.
- Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise that we sell.
- Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
- We accept the following with Customer Service Supervisor/Management approval:
- 40 or more coupons
- Any coupon over $20
- $50 or more in coupons in one transaction
I was in Walmart a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised when they let me use my Target coupons. I was able to get 12 Smart Ones meals for $5 because of all my coupons! Woohoo!
